Software
Although the entire user experience is more crucial in Apple’s universe than specifications, we still prefer to know what’s going on within our gadgets. The performance disparity is wider than ever because the new A16 Bionic SoC is only available in this year’s Pro iPhones. iPhone 14 Pro review: Battery life
The strength of the iPhone 14 Pro may lie in its battery life. The battery life of Apple’s smaller flagship has never been superior to the Max variant, and the iPhone 14 series is no exception. The 3,200mAh battery in the iPhone 14 Pro is significantly less than the 4,500–5,000mAh cells in competing flagships, including the 4,323mAh battery in the 14 Pro Max. The 14 Pro’s battery is limited by our test, which entails streaming a YouTube video over Wi-Fi with the screen brightness at its highest setting. It lasted exactly 16 hours, matching the 13 Pro’s record, but falling far short of the 19 hours the 14 Pro Max managed. For reference, the Galaxy S22+ ran for 10 hours and the Pixel 6 Pro achieved 22 hours. Practically speaking, the phone consistently lasted a whole day on a single charge. Despite extensive benchmarking, we encountered no issues during the test period and always concluded the day at 25% or higher. Price and availability
The $999 Apple iPhone 14 Pro has a little touch of middle child syndrome. In terms of features and performance, it clearly improves upon the smaller Pro Max ($1,099) and the basic iPhone 14 ($799).
