Logitech G is undoubtedly following the light and fast gaming mouse trend with the Logitech G502 X Plus. That 106g weight, combined with its low-friction PTFE feet, delivers effortless glide on most surfaces – particularly the best gaming mouse pads – and allows users to enjoy an enjoyable gaming experience while putting less strain on their gaming arm and shoulder. However, fans of the line’s customizable weight feature will be disappointed to learn that Logitech G has removed it, limiting the Logitech G502 X Plus to its base weight. Still, in terms of ergonomics, the Logitech G502 X Plus provides adequate support for palm grip gamers. It does not provide as much support as the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro or the Roccat Kone XP Air. It is, however, comfortable to use on its own, even for smaller hands. The side panels are finely textured and rubberized for a more secure yet premium feel, the dip on the left button is a nice touch, and the thumb rest is very supportive. Because of the brand’s new hybrid optical-mechanical switches, all 13 programmable controls require only light pressure and are incredibly satisfying to press. Claw grip players would have preferred to see the side buttons flush with the side panel and slightly forward for easier, more seamless access. However, palm grippers should have no trouble with the side button placements. Another noteworthy feature is the third side button, which is located directly in front of the thumb rest. It’s a button with a tail, designed so that people with shorter thumbs can still click it without having to extend their thumb. The cool thing about it is that it’s magnetic and can be flipped depending on whether you want easy access to it or not. It’s a DPI Shift button by default, and it works perfectly, but if you want it out of the way but still usable, simply reverse it so that the tail points forward. You can even replace it with a non-clickable cover if you don’t need it.
