You are suddenly the model son / daughter that all your brothers and sisters are compared to. Feels good, right? Or maybe you’re a forgetful person in general, so you can schedule all of your emails for the week in one night, and you can breathe easy during your work week! But wait, there is more! I’m addicted, how do I get started scheduling emails now?
Step 1: First of all, Boomerang only works with Firefox 3.6 (read: doesn’t work with Beta 4) and Chrome 5.0, and upIt is a browser extension in case you are still wondering. Once you have confirmed that you are using one of the aforementioned browsers, head over to Boomerang’s official site with this wonderfully clear, exceptionally large download button directly on the homepage. Step 2: You have successfully started installing Boomerang for Gmail! You will likely receive a notification at the bottom of your screen asking you to confirm the download of the Boomerang file. In Chrome it looks like the one below. Firefox will have a similar message.
Step 3: A small box will open again up to ask again to confirm your desire to install Boomerang. Reassure your browser that you know what you are doing.
Step 4: After the installation is complete (it only takes a moment), open up your Gmail account in another window or tab and you should see a new Boomerang button in the top right corner (shown below).
Step 5: Now, when you Composing an e-mail there is a new one button at the top that says Send laterRather than clicking Send when you have finished writing an email, you can click Send Later to choose from a number of different times when you can send your email, except now.
Step 6: Conversely, there is also a boomerang button available while you are reading a messagee. Clicking it will bring up another drop-down menu with the same time options, but this time choose a time when you want to receive the message you are currently viewing. The message will be returned to your inbox and marked as unread so that you can handle it at your chosen time.

What I like the most about Boomerang is the way they put your emails back into your hands. You have full control over when you send and receive emails. Email has become almost the de facto means of communication in today’s connected age, and so using it productively is essential.
