Users are disappointed if they don’t see a special attachment button in Paint to add images over the existing image. But the same feature is available using the ‘Paste from’ buttonYou can use it to insert images into Paint. Here are the steps to add a transparent image in Paint: Step 1: Start MS Paint on your computer. Step 2: Open the first image to which you want to add another image via File> Open.
Step 3: Click the small down arrow under Paste. Choose the option ‘Paste from’.
Step 4: The ‘Past From’ window will open. Navigate to the image file you want to add over the first image. Click Open to insert it.
Step 5: In most cases, you will find that if you add a PNG file with a transparent background, it will also appear with a white background. Do not you worry.
With the image selected, click the down arrow below the Select option. Choose Transparent selection.
Voila! The white background will disappear immediately.
How does transparent selection work?
In case you’re wondering how the Transparent selection removes the background, here’s a quick explanation. The color selected in Color 2 in Paint is removed when you enable Transparent Selection. Because PNG images have a transparent background, Paint adds them with a white background. It will be removed when you click on it as the color 2 is usually white. If it is a different color, the Transparent selection will not work. So click on the Color 2 box and then click on the white color.
If your image now has a different background color, select it in Color 2. To do this, click the Color Picker icon on the toolbar. Usually, you click on the color in the image to select it as Color 1. Since we need the color in the Color 2 box, right click on the color.
Then use the Transparent selection option. That way you can get rid of any part of your image. The only thing to ensure is that the image has a solid background. Step 6: You can resize, reposition, and rotate the transparent image. Use the corners of the selection box to resize the image. Right-click on the image and choose Rotate.
To change the position, hold your mouse pointer over the image. It turns into a four-sided arrow. Drag it to the desired position.
Likewise, you can add multiple images on top of the same image in Paint.
Step 7: Go to File> Save As to save the image.
