Guide: How to Import Chrome Browser Bookmarks to Samsung Browser
Samsung Internet Browser is one of the best alternatives to Chrome on Android, answering many of the persistent usability issues in Google’s flagship browser. It has a user-friendly user interface that significantly improves navigation, a handy night mode that works surprisingly well, and a built-in content blocker to remove annoying ads. However, ditching Google Chrome isn’t that easy, especially with all that bookmarks and other browsing data it collects over time – all in the form of a personalized search and browsing experience. The Samsung developers have provided a solution to fix some migration issues with the Samsung Internet Chrome extension.
Preparing to import
If you’re already using Chrome sync to access your bookmarks on a PC or Mac, you’re prepared and good to go. But if you don’t, you’ll have to sign in to Chrome on a desktop with your Google account and then sync your bookmarks. Simply log in to Chrome with your Google account credentials, and your bookmarks will be synced immediately. If you sign in to a desktop, you share with others and create a separate Chrome profile to avoid merging your browsing data with someone else’s. Click the profile icon in the top right corner of the Chrome window, then click Manage people to add a new profile. Note: Not seeing your Chrome bookmarks? Open the Settings shutter, click Sync and turn on the switch next to Bookmarks to sync them. You also need a Samsung account. Since your bookmarks are imported through Samsung Cloud, you must have one to sign in to both Samsung Internet Chrome Extension and Samsung Internet Browser. Create a Samsung account Using a Samsung smartphone, you probably already have a Samsung account. Otherwise, create an account – it’s free.

Move Chrome Bookmarks
Samsung Internet Browser imports your Chrome bookmarks into a separate folder, but that doesn’t mean you should keep it that way. Tap the vertical Ellipsis icon in the top right corner of the Bookmark Manager, tap Edit to select folders, then tap Move to move them to another folder or location.
The same can be done for individual bookmarks as well. Make sure to spend some time categorizing your bookmarks, so you don’t have to endlessly dive into the Chrome bookmarks folder.
Sync bookmarks
The Samsung internet extension also doubles as a direct gateway to your bookmarks stored in the Samsung Internet Browser. Click the gear-shaped settings icon after clicking the extension, then click Sync Samsung Bookmarks.
You then need to view your Samsung Internet Browser bookmarks listed under Samsung bookmarks section. Pretty cool, right? Note that they are not added to Chrome Bookmarks Manager – you can only access them from the extension.
You should also actively click Sync Samsung Bookmarks when you want to update your bookmarks – this will happen automatically, but not as often as you’d like.
Stay in sync
