Disk formatting is very efficient in cleaning disk partition files and is usually taken care of by us when we want to empty an internal hard drive or removable disk. On this page, locate your removable drive, right-click and choose Format. it brings up the Windows Basic Format menu. If you are not sure which options to choose, see the tips above or click “Restore Device Defaults” button to use what came with the device. Click Start to format the drive. However, as they are electronic devices, they are prone to damage, misbehavior, and do not function as intended.
Using the command prompt
The Windows Command Prompt can help you with this. After all, the command prompt is the most basic way to format a hard drive. That’s why I typed the specific command. I chose it because, in my case, this unit is problematic. It doesn’t have to be your case. If your own C drive doesn’t need formatting, you can choose to leave it as is. You can change C drive to the drive letter you want to format. For example, the drive letter you want to format is drive “J”. And the file system you want to have on the drive is “FAT32”. So what you have to enter in the Command Prompt window is the following: format J: /fs:FAT32.
Using Disk Management
One of the relatively easy ways to do this is to turn to the Windows disk management tool. It is the program that can help you manage the different drives on your computer.
