How to Add a Menu Bar in Your Google Chrome Browser – Guide

Google Chrome is a popular search engine that is not immediately available on all computer operating systems. Chrome’s menu bar is not added immediately after installation. This can be easily fixed by activating the menu in Google Chrome settings with just a few clicks. Once enabled, you can customize your Chrome settings, bookmarks, and other menu options to suit your typical search needs. Chrome’s source code mainly comes from Google’s free and open source Chromium software project, but Chrome is licensed as proprietary freeware. WebKit was the original rendering engine, but Google eventually forked it to create the Blink engine; all Chrome variants except iOS now use Blink.

How to Add a Menu Bar in the Google Chrome Browser

Enabling Chrome Menu Access

Launch Google Chrome. If you just installed it, you may need to go to Applications and open it via this search field. If you’ve already made it a permanent icon on the bottom taskbar, select it and allow it to fully load. Once open, find the Settings option in the Hamburger Menu, the three dots or three lines in the top right section of the browser. After opening Settings, find the Appearance section. The presentation home button” will show that it is disabled. Click on this item to enable it. Your Google Chrome search engine will be saved when you close the screen, making it the default browser. Reopen the settings to ensure it is enabled; then close all browser windows and open a new one. Google Chrome must be the new search browser.

Enabling Chrome Bookmarks

Bookmarks help you find your most used sites faster. When you bookmark a site, your browser places it in a list of “marked sites” with a menu that allows you to quickly search and select them. This function, however, is not automatically enabled in the menu. To activate it, go to the Settings section in the google Hamburger Menu, the three dots described in the previous section, in the upper right corner of the page. Once in Settings, scroll to find the Appearance section and select “show bookmarks bar”. This activates bookmarks, so you can access them from the navigation bar.

Set default site

Having a default website open when Chrome loads is useful if you need to log in daily to a work or school program. By making the first page load as your default site, you can save time and potential errors by typing information incorrectly. Remember that you can choose one or more pages to automatically load when Chrome loads. Open the Chrome browser and click on the desired default website. In the Settings section, scroll down to the “On startup” area. Look for a “radio” button next to the phrase “Open a specific page or set of pages”. Select “use current pages” and close the screen to save the change. Close Chrome and open it again to ensure all pages open correctly.
