The release of iTunes as a Windows Store app was a largely welcome move from Apple. While there were no differences in terms of aesthetics compared to the traditional iTunes app, the Store version has significantly less bloating and feels a bit better in terms of performance. However, it is not entirely without its problems. The other day I had to sit up Windows 10 all over again. That translated into reinstalling iTunes from the Windows Store. Everything was fine except the part on connecting the PC to my iPad. The ‘Driver Not Installed’ error kept greeting me. Have you faced a similar error? Check for new Windows updates
Let’s start by installing the latest updates for Windows 10. You may have noticed that this is actually the course of action suggested by iTunes when it prompts the ‘Driver Not Installed’ error. Checking for the latest updates didn’t work for me (because Windows 10 on my PC already up so far), it is important that you do this first. Note: Certain Windows updates can take time up significant time and bandwidth to complete. Step 1: Type windows update in the Start menu and click Open.
Step 2: Click Check for updates. If new updates are detected, they should automatically start installing. After updating Windows, check if iTunes recognizes your iPhone or iPad without the ‘Driver not installed’ error message. Update and reinstall drivers

Step 2: Right-click the Start button, then click Device Manager in the context menu that appears up
Step 3: Expand the Portable Devices section and you should find your iPhone or iPad below. Right click on it and select Update Driver.
Step 4: Select the option labeled “Search automatically for updated driver software.” Device Manager must download and reinstall a newer version of the driver.
Step 5: Expand the section labeled Universal Serial Bus Devices and right-click Apple Mobile Device USB device and then click Update Driver. Select ‘Search automatically for updated driver software’ again when prompted. Note: The Apple is listed on select PCs Mobile Device USB Device in the Universal Serial Bus Devices Controllers section.
Also update the driver for Apple Mobile Device Composite USB device. On some PCs it may not be listed in Device Manager. If so, don’t worry about that. After that, exit Device Manager and launch iTunes. And voila! You will likely find your iPhone or iPad plugged in and ready to use. If not tricklet’s see what’s on the cards next.
Update iTunes manually
If you have turned on automatic updates for Windows Store apps (this is the default configuration in Windows 10), you can skip to the next section. But if not, you will need to update iTunes manually. Hopefully, a newer version is available that should fix any bugs related to the problematic iTunes driver for good. Step 1: Open the Windows Store. Then click the three-dot icon in the top right corner of the window and then click Downloads and updates.
Step 2: Click Get Updates to check for new updates. If new updates are available for iTunes, click Download button next to the list to apply them. Note: If you have turned on automatic updates, you will not see the Get Updates button Did that succeed? If not, we’ll continue.
Reset location and privacy settings
It’s time to step away from your PC to do a little troubleshooting on your iPhone or iPad. This solution includes resetting iTunes trust rights. If incorrect permission settings trigger the ‘Driver not installed’ error, the following steps should help resolve the issue. Note: If you reset trust rights, your iOS device will be prompted to forget all devices that you previously connected to. Therefore, you should also trust other PCs or Macs that you have already ‘trusted’. Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, tap General, then tap Reset.
Step 2: Tap Reset location and privacy, then enter your device password when prompted.
Step 3: Tap Reset to confirm.
Step 4: Connect your iPhone or iPad to your PC and tap Trust in the popup window.up notification.
If problematic permission settings were causing the whole problem, your iOS device should now show up up in iTunes.
Reinstall iTunes
This is very rare, but if none of the above solutions worked, it is time to reinstall iTunes. Since we’ve already gone through several steps that should have resolved the problem for good, it’s likely an issue with corrupted application files. Reinstalling iTunes is now unfortunately an unavoidable fact. Note: Uninstalling iTunes will not delete any iPhone or iPad backups that you may have made before the “Driver Not Installed” error appears. The same goes for your music library. You should be able to access it on reinstallation. Step 1: Right-click on the Start menu, then select the apps and Features option from the context menu.
Step 2: On the list of apps displayed up, click iTunes, then click Delete to remove it from your PC.
Step 3: Restart your PC.
Step 4: Open the Windows Store, search for iTunes and click Install.
After reinstalling iTunes, sign in with your Apple ID and then connect your iPhone or iPad. Most likely, it should be able to detect your iOS device smoothly from now on.

You should definitely have fixed the ‘Driver Not Installed’ error now. Updating Windows or using Device Manager to manually update the outdated drivers can help fix things for the most part.
