On the apps, Marketplace has a new tab to the right of Notification, while on PC it can be found in the left access panels directly below News Feed and Messenger. You don’t need to download or set up any other app for it up a new account. As for the items that can be found in Marketplace, these include a range of things from household items, gadgets, appliances and even real estate. Now the items shown here can also be used which we assume the seller would mention. And users can easily contact the seller through the messenger to close a deal. Facebook says that while you always have control over how much information you share, there is always a chance of phishing and spam. That’s why it’s always a good idea not to share sensitive information such as credit card number and bank details.
How to Use it
To use Marketplace, click on the tab and you will be taken to the interface. Once there you can see the local listings of the items being sold.
The cards usually show an image, the name and price of the item. Once you click on a card to buy, you will be presented with a window with a slideshow of the images on the left. On the right, you will see the item’s classification along with the name, seller name and their location. The buttons below you can ask the seller if it’s still available, send them a message, save the message, or share it. We must remember that Facebook Marketplace is just a place to list a product and no transactions take place here. Thus, the barter must be done according to a method agreed between the seller and the buyer. To list one of your products on the Marketplace, click on ‘Sell something’ button it will open up the sales panel.
Here you will be asked to provide the name of the product you are selling along with the price. In addition to these, Facebook requires you to provide your location, select the category of the product that will follow on a list, and then add photos. While photos are mentioned as optional, we recommend adding a few. This increases the credibility of the ad. Once all of these are added just click on the post button and your ad will show live on Facebook Marketplace.
